I had the front seat reupholstered, and I think that I might still have the old material. I can look if you need it, and there might be enough to redo the squad bench. If not, the original material that the shop used for the front seat might still be available. If I still had it, I could have talked to one of the new-car dealers, because they have people who come to do those types of repairs all the time, and you can't tell where the repair is once they are done. Most of the time, they are repairing cigarette burn holes or tears when the mechanic gets into the car with a screwdriver in his back pocket.

Seen them at work they use a tint in there glue. They can make stuff look like new. Shop up in rapid that does it. But you got to take it up there drop it off and go pick it back up. In the mon-fri 8-5 time frame.

will my lunch date turned into a dinner date, so we got the chance to do a few things today played with the switches they work. somehow when everything is off and the dash panel has the rear heater turned on and with a door open, I can turn the blower on with the far-left toggle. if you have the key on and the door closed its controlled by the knob and has different speeds. but the outer flip switch will turn on and off the dome light. the center one will turn the cabinet lights. I just going to leave that alone. but if I ever have to R&R that bench top again, I think I'll quit. they had to have used a whole box of screws on that thing. glad for a power screwdriver. trim pads next. that last shop is the latest fire origin. it went from there up and over the hill southeast for a good ways I didn't catch the total but with the wind blowing it was bigger the 3 states in the northeast

that is 5000 acers and 60% contained today. but it was a Monday and the 13th spent most of the day waiting but got help with my Meds. somehow, I had failed to get one of the diabetic meds renewed. wondered what was going on. teach me to compare the bottles on the shelf with my list now and then. but in the spirit of do something we did get one of the trim pad on at least. we are using the foam packing material as a wind Moisture brake. it's light easy to work with and it free. besides it covers all bases.

Is it waterproof? If not, the back of the door panel will absorb water and warp. I use black contractor's trash bags, since one will do two doors. Also, the bottom lip of the plastic is supposed to go into the groove at the bottom of the door to direct the water into the door and out through the bottom door drains on the outside of the door gasket.

yes, it's Styrofoam so its waterproof. as for the grove remember these doors were extended by Pinner in two locations there is no lower grove. factory was paper for a long time they then went to plastic. yes, the paper did tuck into the slot on the bottom. drain holes were on the outside of the seal. they are on the side doors of this car. none in the rear. the big thing it to protect the cardboard from getting wet, offer some sound proofing and insolation at a cheap price. this does all three of them. we clued it on with the weather-stripping adhesive so it can be easily removed if necessary. had a busy day yesterday but got thing accomplished spring has finally sprung her, the plant life is showing it. call for snow over the weekend finished up on the front door and got a good go at the center. what a fight the inside remotes are square pegs and thy only allow for the handle to be put on one way. this door had to be the first one they did it has a dozen holes around the hole. I picked the wrong set last year when I reassembled the door. and could not get the handled in place. but finely understood what was going on in the blind spot. had I known how many times I had to do all these screws I would have put a zipper on. but it's on now. some days you get a lot done so days you don't. the key is to don't fight it.

another exciting day in the Black Hills. finished up with the r center doo and looked at the rear, before I went out and cut out the center of the tree in the middle of where I'm going to move the cars. then My drunk Nabor showed up wanting me to help him hide his car so the cops don't see he wrecked it. to late they were looking at it when I went down to see what happened. like I was going to hid it for him anyway. discover I did nave any of the plastic rings for under the window cranks so we made us some. I didn't have enough black spray can tops but I did have a collection of red lids of from thinner cans. we started to cover up the holes before it was time to go in. I wonder where they sourced the rear door from? there would not have been a reason for them to cut a hole for the lock rod in it. that screw, they good all the good out if it, it had to give. one thing you can do it you trim pad is not to badly warped is get it damp and get enough weight on it in the sun to let it press and dry. a piece of plywood is a asset. I didn't have one. but it works.

as we work around the car again, we pick up a few later things. time to plug those holes in the rear were the back up and lic plate wires come out. bought me a assortment of rubber A holes, that way I know I have two sizes too big and too small. to big you can cut a pie wedge out of and make fit, so that what we did. they are calling for a storm Sunday so we'll wait till it doesn't get here to move the care back out front. then we put the center door back together. one more door and it clean up till the rubber flooring get in. then this one can go home. heeded to get a few more screws to finish up the doors. getting hard to fine the oval headed screws. no one keeps them on hand anymore. since we had the sill plate off to recover one of the plugs went ahead and thinned the board up a little. we are going to repaint to top on the back door so it will go on last.

the trim pad one the right door is the roughest one. they really chewed this up drilling the hole for the spotlight. but it all covered up. I elected to run the wire for the light on the outside of the door shell rather the inside that way it won't get tangled up with anything. forgot about the upper frame so we had to move it, but all is well that ends will. this is not the original spot for the car. the original had the cross bar holding it in. I only have one of them and it doesn't marry up with the shaft or the holes, so I fill them with a screw. started to charge up batteries, time to get the cars moved. hoping to be able to get everything under cover by next winter.

got the door back together. spend most of the day in the great American car shuffle. moving the cars from the winter possession behind the house to out front. as normal the key car is the one we had trouble starting. battery died in the 96. but the 64 pinner popped right off. getting to the final stages on the new yorker. the rear bumper, step and final cleanup are all that is left. the last bit of flooring came in yesterday. be soon to say good by to it. now if I could only get the man to finish the engine on my other 72, we could get started on it. we have a dry moon as our Indian friends say it can't rain the moon is holding the water in

we are now Official into the cleanup stages. getting the final things taken care of on the car. we will not talk about this small problem on the hood. just say that if you are putting things together on the nose and the car is tight to the wall. don't slam the hood closed form the side when you quite for the day. some fool may have left a sheet metal screw standing on its head on the radiator support.

we are letting things air out till we can clean out the shop to paint the hood be got things blocked and reprimed and them sanded the hood with 400 fallowed up with a grand just because we had time to kill. the snow was a God sent we have been running in the extreme drought sense September around here. then there is the local environmental wacko that think fire will help. been keeping the boy and girls in yellow busy. so picking up things that needed to be done. decided to put the rear bumper in place. didn't know 4 nuts and 3 wires could take up the afternoon. there is not enough room behind that thing to get your fat hand up in there to snap the clips in place. then some were someone had tried the jack it up from the center, so it has a slight bow to it. but it's on there. I want to paint the inside upper piece of the back door when we spot in the hood. we have that much paint mixed up anyway. but it too big to do it inside with the car in there. 39 deg is a little cool but it would flow or nicely. water is a problem. all the while I was fiddling with the bumper, I kept feeling something on it. turns out to be a string of Bondo. not mine I had the bumper and the door off when I slung that stuff. it's not there anymore.

That was the way the bumper was when it came back from the chrome-plating shop. I fought with that left corner until I was able to use a large drift pin to pull it into submission.

I had to give up on it warming up looks like we are in for another week of this. since the bumper is on, we can get this panel striped and primed. had to help my next door with replumbing here overflow for the new water heater she got. we trade helping each other. then tried to move the last car but think my 3-year battery is done. we then ground and sanded, then ran it out between drizzles and primed. it's about 40 outside so the primer had a good chance to lay down. we got it between raindrops. there was a few of the curtain rod holders that fell apart. all we could find was some bolt on ones. they will work will here.

woke up this morning to those dollar size snowflakes that splat when they hit. did it all morning stopped around noon was gone by 2. don't tell me the power of prier is no good. everyone you met before two weeks ago stated they were praying for moister. they got it. we had a little window this afternoon so ran the top piece out and shot the back side quick. you paint for looks and protection. this side just need protection. by 5 it was gathering up again and drizzling. I had things back inside. spring has sprung the chock cherries are all budded out the honey suckle is in bloom

no time like the present to get it done. finally got a dry day and we are ready backed the car out funny thing as soon as I hooked the battery up we had back up lights. don't thing they should work that way. the switch works but noticed it was shorter on the plunger then the rest. dug through the jar and found one about 1/4 inch longer. that now goes off when the door closes. decided to move the top of the door outside and but some clear on it also. then spotted in the hood and shot the clear there as it was mixed up. ended up dumping the extra on the floor around the drain can't hurt, might help. then spread out the care covers to help them dry out some from the rain. hosed the dust off and sweep up the shop today fells like we starting over. discovered a few leaks still got one in that left center door but did stop the big one. now it's the right center door with that. but I now it can be stoped.

part of the joy of painting without a booth. the piece we did outside turned out good. the piece inside had something float in the shop and land on it. has to be some plant pollination it didn't appear till I was done. and I came back in. the hair I understand the rest I don't. but the window for buffing is open so buff we will. sanded out the contamination and got started buffing. at this point it's like buffing rubber. hope it better tomorrow. the worse case is we shoot it again.

Looks like you will always have a ring there unless you repaint the entire hood.

They did sand out. Took that picture after the first couple passes. It was defently laying on top of that last coat but the top of the door out side has nothing. My bet was a wind gust blew the dust of the top of the door. Because it wasn't there when i walked out. I had the big door cracked enough to pass the hose out.

will we are getting there, slow but sure. I wish I could find a tub of the old orange past compound we used when Laquear was the norm. that stuff had some bite to it. these new compounds just don't. but the top cover on the rear door so nothing will happen to it. safe place is on the car.
