'62 Oldsmobile ?

Can anyone identify this '62 Oldsmobile shorty? Obviously not a C-B. Also, did anyone else use these tunnel lights?

This is in fact a C/B; Comet and then C/B used these tunnels through the 1964 model year.

Flasher options for the '62 C/Bs included these, the '61 Plymouth taillights, lollipops, sealed beam tunnels, tunneled Solar Rays, rear marker lights, and others. C/B introduced their torpedo lights for the '63 model year.

These tunnels - with the two "bubbles" in each lens - were used by Comet and C/B.

I shot the same car in a salvage yard on US 34 near Elmwood, NE in 1992; here's a shot from an earlier post:

62 Olds B/B in Nebraska

Steve, is that a 60 Eldorado or Fleetwood I see behind the 62 Olds? Did you take any more pics in that yard?

Lately i'm amazed at the amount of procar history we document & preserve. What are the odds the SAME coach Kurt just shared was also photographed by Steve some 20 years ago?
Really enjoy this when these old coaches surface and photos from "back in the day" of the same cars, usually complete with service history, are shared on the site.

Thanks to ALL of you who have these huge archives of photographs and share them with all of us. Your efforts don't go unnoticed and I for one appreciate it very much!

If there was a '60 Eldo or Fleetwood in that yard, it was gone by the time I took these photos there 12-15 years ago.

'62 Cotner Bevington Oldsmobile Seville

I stopped by Eastern Nebraska Auto Recyclers on friday afternoon to buy a few parts and noticed that this '62 C-B Seville had factory A.C. and a USAF sticker on the front bumper. Not sure if it would have been Air Force owned, or just owned by someone that was in the Air Force.

I was in the jump seat area of this Seville and(for what ever reason) decided to reach my hand into the oxygen bottle hole in the floor section door that held it. Pulled opened this small floor door to expose a young Racoon staring up at me! Wasn't expecting that! This car has been sitting without a back door for years as the owner had sold the back door to someone who was doing a '62 C-B Chevrolet needing a door. That oxygen bottle hole was just the perfect size for this young coon to slip through.

It's that time of the year again! Watch out for all of those snakes, Racoons, Skunks, Badgers, Woodchucks, Bobcats, Chiggers, Ticks, etc. All of which we "Junk Yard Junkies" have encountered. My legs will itch for the next 6 months!

Yes, Bobcats! John's Auto Salvage in Cabool, MO a couple of years ago. Startled him as much as it did me!
