that would be a MB-38 as I recall basically a cj-6 ok got the numbers wrong he says it's a m-170. strange they don't show the side they modified to fit the doors. no me I would sta away from anything on facebook marketing

I need to wander over and look at the 57 in daylight, but from the pictures that thing just ain't right.

It's about 18" too long, most likely stretched behind the transfr case and under the seats.
The M-170 number is bogus too. My hunch is when it was stretched a FC 170 full floating rear end was installed because the standard rear wouldn't handle the weight. I can recall weak rears being a problem with CJ 3 and CJ5 models when secondary builders mounted welders, compressors, backhoes and chain diggers to the back end.

If you are not watching Facebook Marketplace, you are missing out on a lot! Not much to be found on Craig's List anymore.

Facebook Marketplace is up and coming my salesman is a big fan. We have sold two Police Expeditions on it that went to Germany. Fully lighted and marked they are allowed to drive them that way in Germany. He also has sold six Crown Vics and a Charger again fully lighted and marked to the UK. And is currently working on two more. Plus the article on Barn Finds on us was a Facebook drop in. So yes Craigs List is yesterday.

As a buyer i have not been happy with anything i have bought on facebook. A experienced seller may reach a wider audience that way. But i have not had a good experiences as a buyer.

My experance has been as they say different.
I do how ever get a lot of adds for stuff in my mail mailbox every time i have gotten something.

Ed, I have had good luck as you know, since you picked it up for me. The only problem that I find is that many times, the item is located too far away to get. Today, I snagged some Snap On refrigeration tools that I needed to round out the ones that I don't have for servicing the early GM air conditioning compressors. The seller is meeting me tomorrow afternoon to complete the deal.

Yes the big problem is you can't see what your getting till it's to late to back out. My 10 buck dash cam is still working fine as are the 10 buck gas spouts. But every day now we get an offer in our mail box to buy more. Just how many do they think i can use. most people are honest sellers but there are a lot of uninformed honest sellers out there also. You get to spending big money best have some one that can give you an honest look at things. At least with places like E-bay you have a way out if you get shafted.

Ed,
I don't think we are talking about the same thing. This is Facebook Marketplace. Similar to Craig's List.

1954 M170 Willys Jeep, Front-Line Ambulance
Belton, MO · over a week ago ·

$3,500

1954 M170 Willys Jeep, Front-Line Ambulance for sale in Belton on Facebook Marketplace

1954 M170, had been converted to 12v and civilian seats. Also passenger side has been modified to fit regular-sized doors. Was running several years ago when parked. Would be a good candidate for restoring to front-line ambulance, or as a radio jeep, your choice. Was from Arizona, flat-towed up to Missouri. Rust-free, engine not stuck. Have SOME original parts to go with it, CORRECT ambulance top, and CORRECT sized passenger door, some passenger seat and original bows. NEW tires (not pictured) all the way around. Open title from Arizona.
