That revised grille is somewhat better - certainly cleaner and less obnoxious. Now, all the guys at Lincoln have to do is to clean up the lines of the rest of this ugly perambulating ark.

In place of that supremely ugly SUV - with its high road clearance - my choice for a Lincoln-based platform would be the MKS. The new version, premiered at the LA Auto Show ( http://blogs.cars.com/kickingtires/2011/11/2013-lincoln-mks-at-the-2011-la-auto-show.html ) is not too bad and could be made into a nice-looking funeral car - by a talented stylist. That's something that Accubuilt, Eagle and Federal seem to lack. That's probably why they keep using the services of the renown Keller & Wonder.

yes toned down a lot but there is still no way to make the pinched butt look better. adding the large tail lights just draws your attention to it. now if they made it a foot wider and 3 feet longer you could call it a ?? still not a car sorry it's a crossover that leaves something out from each side. it not a suv it's not a van it's not a car, just a ugly little cracker box on wheels.

I wonder what ever happaned to the day's when auto manufactures tried to make their products look like fine american cars. Today, everything is melding into the mini-van/suv look. Cheaply built, horrible looking creations splashed with oversized chrome plated plastic grilles and tail lights just do not met the standards of world leader. American auto producers need to realize that the grand old days of "American pride and quality" have been sent down the assemble line years ago. Unless they get their act together now, after their financial trouble of 3 years ago, they will loose it all again....this time, maybe forever!

Like Cadillac, Lincoln to me was a upper class make in the automotive world.

Looking at the photos of the new Lincoln MKT posted in this thread...
leaves me wondering... where is the future of the automobile going ?!

Down the drain in most cases in my opinion !
Nothing is exciting anymore... and if anything... it is UGLY !
Everything, all brands, look the same !

Someone should set themselves apart and make a cool looking car.
Especially for funeral industry use ! ...and other uses of distinction.

I don't believe that there are any automobile styling visionaries left in the industry. The quality of designs has been going downhill for years, and today, even Mercedes and Volvo who 20 years ago had some tastefully designed cars, have gone to the dark side. For a while, it appeared that all design was dictated by safety and fuel economy. Now, even those parameters are gone in the outward designing of the automobile, and you need to look at the name badge to know the brand.

I want my Fleetwood back!!

jeremy is right-Cadillacs and Lincolns are now a far cry from the huge Fleetwoods and Town Cars from the not-so-far past. We can only hope Federal and Accubuilt can do better with the styling on the new Cadillac XTS.We can only hope and pray....

The revised frontal styling of the Lincoln MKT makes me want to grab that Lincoln emblem and replace it with an Oldsmobile emblem.

Having seen photos of the new Cadillac XTS and "renderings" of what a new hearse on that chassis will look like, I doubt that we'll be in for any exciting surprises when the actual vehicles begin rolling out of the factories. I hope I'm proven wrong, but I just can't imagine anything in the way of a "wow" factor at this point.
