Last Friday, April 26th, my brother and I took our 1972 MM combination to the Shepherd, Michigan emergency vehicle parade hosted by the Shepherd Tri Township Fire Department, in conjunction with their community's Maple Syrup Festival. This was the 16th annual parade but our first time attending. There were at least a dozen departments represented and nearly 30 vehicles. We were the only "ambulance" in attendance even though their flyer requested anyone with vintage ambulances to please attend. Nice parade, great weather and large crowd lining the parade route. They gave away three awards: (1) Farthest traveled (51 miles). We traveled 49.7.
(2) Oldest vehicle & (3) Judges choice. Well since most of the equipment was newer fire trucks we got the award for the oldest vehicle in attendance. This was the first day that the car had been out this year as the weather has been poor in our area.
