OK, this one is a little better. Has a traditional hearse look and I'll at least give the boys a Federal a little credit for the looks on this one!

I'd reluctantly have to agree....it is marginally better in that it actually makes an attempt at looking like a funeral car but, still it's ugly. And it's not all the fault of the coachbuilder. The base Lincoln is ugly. These Lincoln based funeral cars are - in a manner of speaking - the result of the coachbuilders trying to create silk purses from pig's ears.

It is better than some of the offerings I have seen, but I agree she still is an ugly duckling.

I think I prefer styling of this coach as compared to the Eagle Icon. However, still haven't seen a photo of a real one yet.

Looks like they did all they could, givin what they have to work with. The car is rather ugly to start with. Like they say, you cant pollish a turd, no matter what they do, its never going to be perfect. Although I have to say, theres something I kind of like about this one.

Lincoln MKT

When I first started seeing news releases for the new Lincoln MKT Professional Cars two things came to mind immediately. The first being the 1933 Burlington Route Silver Streak Pioneer Zephyrs with their huge cow catchers! The second being the 1936 Chrysler Airflows and Imperials! What is the saying----- KARMA! What goes around comes around!

Gee, they don't look as if they've just escaped from a HaHa Hotel but, you never know. What could these folks have possibly been thinking when they purchased that ugly monstrosity? A couple of them don't actually look that happy now that they have actually see the car and paid for it.

I am afraid we may have ugly professional cars for awhile. We don't know what Cadillac will do, but Lincolin has lost it's ability to design a car people want. What ever happaned to American Pride and styling? Car designers all think they need to copy European cars. If I wanted European styling, I would buy a european car!

When I see these pictures I expect to see a SWAT team piling out of the back, guess the funeral homes will be polishing the older cars a bit longer,,

Icon in motion

Not sure if Baines has delivered this new coach to a customer or if it's a demo coach.

I actually like what Federal has done with the shape of the window area. Not crazy about the Lincoln part but so far to me Federal is the winner of this sad sad contest.

we don't have to except them. rebuilding a older one is a option that may prove to be a better one. they get away with ramming this junk down our throat because we as the buying public except it. time to stop. :boo:

Couldn't agree more. I think the coachbuilders are doing a great job of their part. The lines still flow well and are proportional. Lincoln just designs ugly cars...

Don't crush em-Restore em!

Ed has a point about reconditioning older cars.A company in California called Capricecars.com rebuilds 94-96 Caprices for police officers that don't want a Crown Vic. They also sell reconditioned cars to the public as well. Federal,Eagle, and the rest may want to think about offering a service like this for funeral homes who want to keep their DeVilles and Town Cars. All these bad comments about the MKT can be easily solved...BRING BACK MY ROADMASTER!!!!!:myopinion:

This is what I wrote/asked about on the Superior, I would like feed back if someone help peel the UGLY from thine eyes? In walking around one, the interior is subtle, if you can keep your eyes closed the outside doesn't hurt yours and your dogs feelings. The back seems snug and a bit tight. I would like some feed back if someone buys one and uses it. I think an oversized casket would rub on the interior. I think the Town Car is avail by special order then you can have it customized. I am used to the more powerful v-8 and the 6cyl doesn't appeal to me. The unibody concerns me also about long term structural stability. Does anyone have some insight as to how long it might last on rough roads; we do much reservation hopping and spend hours on washboard roads and its hard on limo's and coaches, but frames are rigid and support the cars well. The 65 Galaxie was unibody and they were not the best for the old roads, they bent easily, if towed wrong and I believe in solid frames. The vehicle is just to new for my appreciation. But I would like to hear back about how it performs for service and dependability. Thanks for your input. I am trying to sell myself on a new one.
I think taking a PT Cruiser and putting a 60 inch streatch and with a Packard front end on it it would be a cute ride.
