1985 Oldsmobile Eureka RWD

Congratulations on acquiring a fairly rare car. McPherson says that this is a Carlton Landau. The Carlton was the entry level Eureka-Oldsmobile just a notch above the Eureka-Buick Sterling Landau and at about the same price as the Sterling Limited Landau. The Sterlings were Eureka's entry level Buick offerings on the LeSabre chassis. The Carltons were all built on the 88 chassis. According to Tom, there were never a lot of Olds-based coaches built in any given model year. Just enough to keep the brand in the line-up. He also said that some dealers reallu liked and sold quite a few of these Oldsmobiles. Foster Coach Sales in Illinois was one of these. Those dealers that had formerly sold Cotner/Bevingtons probably sold the majority of the Eureka-Oldsmibiles. Looks to be an excellent example and the taillights in the car now were original - note the Olds rocket emblems on them.

I knew they had to be from a ciera, but I'm thinking that maybe they could have picked something else, I'll see if the surrounding area is all metal. Taillights from a Custom Cruiser may be the way to go.

A friend of mine bought a "85 Eureka Oldsmobile new. If my memory serves me right, it had different tail lights. Must have been a slightly different model. It was all black. It was a nice car. He traded it off after five years for a new car.
