1984 Chrysler Executive Limousine NEw OWNER!

That’s surprising, Bill. In my limited experience dealers seem to have some good restorative arts specialists on-staff, they can put lipstick on a pig and still make it look good just long enough to bury it (or drive it off their lot before it breaks down on the side of the road). I’m sorry you missed out on this one.

I just checked the VIN, and it is the same on both auction cars, so it is one in the same. Bill, you hesitated, and lost out on a great buy. The high bid was $4100 before the seller ended the auction. My guess is that the latest buyer probably made a high enough offer that the seller ended the auction prematurely, and had he not ended the auction, who knows where this cars price might go to. With under 5000 miles, it is like buying a new car that has been in a time capsule.

In actuality, I had a figure in mind of $8K for this car. I was bidding on it and I intended to go to that number, but they ended it early. I realize that these particular limos struggle for buyers and most of them sell for between $1500 and $3000. But, I really liked this car and Lucille agreed with me about buying it. Funny thing is, she thought this car would bring $20K, maybe she'll be right.

Abe, I used to like you, just kidding. You may not know that I was a car dealer for most of my adult life and I always prided myself on being fair and honest with everyone I did business with. But, I am sure there are people who had different opinions about me.

Bill I knew that, and that wasn’t intended as a dig against you or any used car dealer for that matter. I’ve just always been amazed at how incredible the clunkiest of clunkers were cleaned up and shined up, and looking terrific by dealers. Even when they were known clunkers. In this case, the Mopar limo didn’t even appear to have been even given a super basic detailing, it looked better in the original eBay posting. They must have wanted to do an incredibly quick flip.

Abe, no offense taken, I was just having fun. I believe there are bad car dealers, just as any other profession, the bad ones are bad for everybody.

I agree too, the first ad had beautiful pictures. They almost look like two different limos.

In the second auction, they didn't want it too look too good, so you would be happier when you picked it up, since it is better than you thought it would be.
As for dealers making cars look good, you to can have that done, if you go to a professional car detailer and have your car cleaned and polished. Just had Sandy's 2016 Ford done, and it looks like a new car.
