Denny Shira - Deceased - 1951 - 2020
June 5, 1951 - January 29, 2020
Another one of my favorite rigs. the good, Big, wide,LOUD and heavy. The bad, Very unstable in the winter due to not having duels in the rear.
Even with the biggest studded snow tires we could find, it was terrible in snow and ice. In the winter months it sat in the very back of the garage. Off limits to all but my most experienced drivers.
It had an air horn, dual electronic sirens, A Q2B on the roof and a double tone under the hood. Its no wonder that I have considerable hearing loss.
The second picture is after it hit a bus that pulled out in front of it at an intersection. Medic 4 had the green, the bus turned left on a red arrow.
One of my lead medics, Jeff Bollender is on the left, and EMT Joe Schiro (no relation to me) on the right.
