1976 Commercial Chassis - Muffler

I need a new muffler for my 54XL. The shop where the car is at was asking about what was recommended for these cars. He wants to make sure that I get the right size for the car.

What do you recommend?

Do not know if you can do it there with emission laws, ditch the single system and catalytic converter and go with a nice dual system. The muffler is just a regular muffler.

I have a NOS Cadillac muffler for a 1978 commercial chassis. I would have to check the part number to see if it would fit your car.

All i have been under were same as the fleet wood for the year with a resonator in the rear. The resonator is always the first to go. Most the last origional piece is the Y pipe.

Problem solved. They found the correct muffler. They will be replacing from the Y pipe to the tip of the exhaust.

Because of the age of the vehicle I do not need a catalytic converter.
