1976 Cadillac Limo

Met this gentlemen at the car show who owns a realy nice1976 Cadillac Limo.

it was interesting to compare the similarities and differences between the Cadillac portion of his car and my ambulance.

Did Cadillac manufactured their own limos?

Some of them. All the fulsize were build by Cadillac. The downsized ones were built for cadillac by H&E. That would be 85-89 i think.

These are the tires that were on the car when he purchased it.

It is a little hard to see in the picture, but the car's rear is low. I looked under the car and confirmed that it has air shocks.

I did not have a lot of time to figure out how to inflate them, and could not figure it out. I looked in the trunk to see if there was an inflation valve like in the ambulances, but did not see one.

I assume that limos would have some sort of automated system unlike the ambulance?

Any suggestions as to how to get the shocks inflated?

The pump is under the hood there is a lever on the axle that is the switch that signals the pump to come on and to shut off. First check is does the pump work then the switch then the lines andvthe shocks them selves.

I'll ask the owner if he has a shop manual for the Limo.

The only thing that is better than a factory service manual is the factory assembly manual, which may not be available for all cars. The assembly manual was the instruction book for the assembly line workers, and it gives a lot of detailed information that isn't available in any other book.

Unlike the pro car chassis the fleetwood 75 is in the shop manual. E bay is a good source for them.
