1976 Cadillac hearse

Yowza !

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/lgb/cto/4260805709.html

So we've dumped a lot of money into this project but may be traveling a little bit soon and decided it would be time to find a RV. So we will be accepting trade offers for an RV or Trailer RV. Lets see what you got!

You'll notice the back is completely re-tooled as a jump off point to be an actual limo. Stainless steel seating has been installed and under the seat on the drivers side there is the beginning of a heating/air-conditioning system wired in and just about ready to run. The interior is not finished but it's got a good start. The roof is opened for a sun roof. Ideally I think you would have plexi cut for it. We threw a sunroof up there mainly for safety.

THIS IS RUNNING, REGISTERED, PASSED SMOG AND IS CURRENTLY BEING DRIVEN LEGALLY!

The cons:
There is some rust here and there. It's not terrible.
Needs a bunch of little things (i.e. windsheild wipers).
Speedo doesn't work. It used to. Probably just needs to be hooked up again.
Minor exhaust leak.
Minor power steering leak (this should be easy to fix).
Windsheild cracked but drivable.
A few more things but nothing major.
Starts rough (probably because it's carbureted) This may actually be somewhat normal for a 500 ci 1976 naturally aspirated engine.

The pros:
Brand new top end. Just milled the heads and resealed them
Brand new water pump
Brand new starter
Brand new power steering pump
Brand new belts
4 brand new tires (weighted and balanced)

Automatic transmission
Runs amazing once warmed up (takes about 2 minutes to warm up)
Plenty of power
Has all the original hubcaps (which is pretty cool)

This is all I can think of. Feel free to email with questions. I'm home a lot so you can come see it almost any time!

Really sad demise for a Superior 3-way. Unfortunately, that coach will only go down-hill from here.

The more I see people hacking up these coaches to make a junk limo conversion (and it seems there has been a lot of them show up lately), the more I loose faith in our species. Im glad the PSC exists, so at least some will remain stock. Even more sad, is that everyone that does this to a hearse thinks they are the first one to do it.

Hey Mike, I have to say that your selection of photographs of hood and fender ornamentation is much better here than on your recent "Off Topic" post with the two chandeliers mounted on the Caddi. &

Hey Rocky,
Chandeliers I can afford....I'm not sure I can afford the hood ornament above. Either way, they both attract lots of attention ! ;)

2 Things going against here in Ca 76= You have to it smog every 2 years and the mods to the interior. It,s worth more dead than alive.

Be Patient

The good news is (at least for Calif)....
If you can afford to wait and non op it for a year ,you can register it in 2015 and it should be exempt...
But theres still that price and "back end"....

As far as I know 76 and up still needs to be smogged? There was a bill in the legislature to exempt 30 years and older but as far as I know that never passed?

Below is from The Ca DMV Site.

Does my vehicle qualify for a smog exemption?
Smog inspections are required unless your vehicle is:

•Hybrid
•Gasoline powered 1975 year model or older
•Diesel powered 1997 year model and older or with a Gross Vehicle Weight rating (GVWR) of more than 14,000 lbs
•Electric
•Natural gas powered with a GVWR rating of more than 14,000 lbs.
•Motorcycle
•Trailer
