Question regarding the Exhaust Support (Item 13 in the diagram below).

Did Superior use the OEM support as described in the Parts book or use their own support? I do not believe that this is the support that is on my car. It could have been replaced at some point, but I just want to make sure.

Thanks,

GM supplied the frame, engine, transmission, exhaust, cowl, and everything in front of the cowl, and the commercial glass windshield pillars were shipped loose. They had no reason to modify the exhaust system since it was already installed in the car. The dash, wiring, and all associated parts were shipped in a crate to the bodybuilder to install once the body was mounted. This might have been done to keep it from being damaged as the car was constructed. I learned this from the people who worked at the Miller-Meteor assembly plant in Lima Ohio. This was at the Miller-Meteor meet which was held in Lima in May 2010 to commemorate the introduction of Tom McPherson's book Miller-Meteor: The Complete Illustrated History.
