1974 Hood ornament

I searched but didn't see where this has been discussed before. I have a friend that needs help with installing the hood ornament on his 1974 Superior. The photo is what he has. He needs to know what else he needs and how it attaches to his hood. Thank you.

I'm guessing he has the proper base. most pro cars did not get the hood ornament. they were added after the car was brought. remember it wasn't a caddy so that was left off. put it together off the car is a lot easer. the spring holds the tension to keep the flag up right. a lot of them were held in with a lope of stout wire with hooks on the end to capture the end of the spring. the wires go down threw the center of the spring and over the bottom edge. then some nut case comes along and pulls hard on it so he can put it around his neck on a string.
