1969 Cadillac Station Wagon 1 of 5?

My guess it was hit in the front and they put a 70 nose on it years ago paint looks like MAACO in 98. The seats and door panels in the ORANGE "SIMULATED LEATHER" (read that vinyle ) give new meaning to gross. Again why do people waste money like this there seems to be a spate of it lately. Leather steering wheel is NOT 69 Cadillac either. Definitely a traffic stopper at the local Super Market though.

A lot happens to these old cars in 124,300 miles. The grille is a transplant from a 1970 [admitted in the listing]. I looked up the numbers and it was originally "Lanai Green" (42) which was similar to Chevrolet's 1969 "Frost Green". That would be a mid-year intro., a light metallic green so, a color change. The interior code (382) is a mystery as it is in the 300 leather series but, only thing close to that sequence issued by Cadillac was "Mid- Beige". They claim "simulated leather" so, it also has been changed from original leather or possibly even a unique color. "s" indicates it came with the 'Dual Comfort Seats', not bucket.
The rear door hinges are really OLD Style (1950) for coaches and must rub together on use to be void of any paint. No matter, on the positive side- the bodystyle is attractive... just a mystery who built it. If I get time today, I will research through the Coachbuilder books and try and find a builder. No body tags appear in photo's. At this post it bid up to $15,100 through 4 bidders. It would be interesting to see if a proven history was available with pix of it in use. Maybe if somebody has the time to look through 1969-70 Indy track photo's? If only 5 were built , then by whom? Cadillac Heritage could help out, if anybody here is interested. It would make a great Company Car but, those hinges, scratched glass and bogus color changes rule it out for this collector.
 
They have rusty cars in calf also.that natural leather look is not my cup of tea either. But your right it does have a 70 nose. Just one of those you got to want it things and I don't. There are people that have tracked these conversions. Some were done by H&E. Can't say this was one of them or not.
