1959 S&S hearse sold. But good pictures

Have several of these images saved from eBay auction dated 11/10.

Almost 200 shots in link provided. Only 1 shows removed partition as an afterthought and the description reads like refinishing and welding it back in (and subsequently having to redo stepped headliner) is no big deal. Hilarious.

Just like new "dash cap" spun to "look very nice". Funny stuff. Sure it's a new cover, not an actual new dash. Also impossible to fit one properly. Note wavy buckle. Hey...what happened to '59 horn ring anyway?

I suspect front seat has been changed as well. Split coupe seats in this vintage were the norm, not solid sedan variety.

Do not know when it started but I think it ended about early 70,s that S&S made there own seats . The one in the pic looks the same as the one in my 61S&S and similar to the one in my 69 S&S.

It does have it's original jump seats and the original divider that goes with the car, but needs to be refinished.

"Divider" as in the partition that goes between the driver and the back compartment? or what is the "Divider" they are referring to?

If it is the actual divider partition then I have to wonder why they spent so much money restoring the vehicle and not doing it right with the original divider.

The car is screaming for whitewalls (my opinion only, and that's an easy fix). But, was that color of blue original to S&S coaches in '59? It looks like a modern sports car blue to me, I can't imagine a 59 coach being that color.

After they spent all that money on redoing the coach, you'd think they'd at least get the heater and clock to work!

It's a combination, but the stretcher looks completely unrestored compared to the hand built casket which I sure wouldn't want. It appears that the cot is the only ambulance equipment offered, nothing else seems to be, no beacon, no siren mentioned, and the car doesn't appear to have any switches for any ambulance equipment.

When they say a '59 S&S is the holy grail for professional cars, that's a matter of opinion. To me for a '59 the holy grail would be a Superior! They had the hottest styling for the 59 coaches in my opinion. S&S coaches always looked stodgy and dated to me, which was their intent I know since they and Eureka always had ultra conservative styling that rarely changed.

Speaking of dated, did all S&S coaches have the famous/infamous date marks in '59? Or was that more of an option by then?

I guess if they were going to go to the time and expense of restoring such a coach, you'd think they'd at least do it in a way that would satisfy a professional car buff. This car looks like it has a new paint job, new carpet, and a lot of reproduction non pro car stuff put in but it doesn't seem like they actually put much love or TLC into the project and want to laugh all the way to the bank. I could be wrong but that's what it seems like to me.
