1959 Dodge Coronet Memphian Hearse Combo Car

Extremely cool and appears to be very solid. A very deserving project and would be awesome when done!

I would love to buy and restore this beauty. My problem is that I can't do any of the work, so several times when I did buy a project, I lost money, in a couple of cases, lots of money. So, I am forced to leave a beauty like this to those of you with talent, like Ed, Mike, Kevin, or to the guys with deep pockets. Either way, it would be fabulous for this car to be nicely restored.

Been for sale between CL and eBay well over a year, also recently advertised by Rocket Carz on consignment.

Surviving non-military Memphian Dodge combinations are certainly few and far between. Besides this '59 example, one '57 and one '58 are known existing.

How much were they asking for it?

my question still remains. Memphian as far as I know is not a aftermarket car company. just the name assigned to the coach. the roof line, glass and back door look to me like it was built by universal coach company. now I realise that Memphis coach used that name also on there high top ambulances. and if I have ever seen a Memphis coach combo I don't know I did. but this doesn't resemble any of there Hearses I have seen either. they all have that bubble roof line.

might even be the same car in the factory photo. so it a Memphis coach. so then you people that are in the know were all of Memphis coach's cars called memphian's

the problem with pictures is the angle. you change that just a little and you get a different perspective. me I see a kink just over the vent window on the drip rail on the for sale one. but you can see the emblems are in the same spot and they look the same. both have the flat roof. as we can't see the rear loading door on the factory one we can't see if it's different. it would be safe to say it's a Memphis coach. it will be plainly marked as such by them. they were good at that.

The Memphis Coach Co. built a product called the Memphian. From the photos and literature I've seen, that name was applied to all of their professional cars, even their military ambulances.
