1951 Superior parts

This is from a 1951 Superior that another funeral home in Knoxville is restoring. They are updating the engine and drive train. I believe they bought the 1951 from ebay about a year or two ago.

I wonder if this is from my old '51 Superior that I sold them? Can't imagine why they would waste time on an "upgrade" if it is. That thing ran like a tank. I sold it to them in 2009 if it is.

Jeff, yup, that's the one. Boy, that engine does NOT look like the one that I worked on so many times. I repainted that air cleaner myself. The valve covers also look......a lot different. The original fuel filter was also bypassed with an aftermarket one and does not appear in the photo.

I can't imagine three years in Tennessee doing that to that engine, especially under the care of a funeral home.

I wonder two things:

1. Is the photo of the same engine?

2. Why on earth would the funeral home yank an original matching engine and tranny that only had 40k original miles on it?

Ah well....they paid for it and it belongs to them......
