1951 Chevrolet National Imperial Ambulance

This is a hard one for me to do.
In case any one might be interested a am having to sell my

1951 Chevrolet National Imperial Ambulance.

I have listed on Craigslist with a lot of photos and long description:

https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/cto/d/corona-1951-chevrolet-national-imperial/6784859872.html

Asking price is $7,800 OBO

I just renewed my membership as I do not want to leave the group (What, and miss all this!?).
I just feel sad that I will no long be able to claim ownership. But storage space and health say to pull the plug.
What a kick, just when there is finally going to be a California PCS meeting.

Anyway, If anyone is interested in a very uncommon ambulance give me a shout. It is complete and would not be too difficult of a resto.

Be well and good to each other.
Joe

P.S.: for some unknown reason I can't seem to post photos like I normally do. Well, they are on Craigslist. If you want more let me know.

Sorry to hear this Joe. I remember your posts when you got it. Best of success in passing it someone who can carry the work on.

Good luck Joe, I know that life sometimes makes us change plans. The ambulance is a neat car, I sure hope you find a good home for her.

Good News

Good news - My 1951 Chevrolet National Imperial Ambulance has been sold.

The soon to be new owner, who is not currently a PCS member, has already restored a number of ambulances and limos. That is the plan for the National. Makes me very happy. Since it is being restored I'm sending along everything I've collected including a correct gurney and stripped mattress, etc.

New owner is not yet a PCS member yet, though he has heard about us. I explained the resources available that could help him with not only the National but with his other vehicles.
I told him that one of the things I'll include with the sale is a one year membership in the Professional Car Society, at my expense.

BTW: I've seen his work and it is outstanding.

Wanted to post a photo but still can not ??????

Joe, my 52 National is a Pontiac but lots of similarities, especially the interior. Tell him if he needs any pictures or measurements just to contact me.

Well, Ben, we name the ambulance Ben after the show "Ben Casey", is now off to his new PCS member home in Wisconsin. The new owner has quite a stable of procars: ambulances, hearses and limos, that he restored. I'm sure he'll share them in the future.

I sent Ben off with gurney, siren, red fog lights and much more that I had gathered over time.

I have a bit of feeling of loss but also realize I was just the interim caretaker. This particular National was headed to the crusher until I offered more than scrap. Ben was and is a survivor vehicle which drove onto the trailer under his own power.

It was fun years.

I had a great pic to attach but the site still will not let me.
