1950 Chevy Ambulance at Spring Auburn Auction

At AuctionsAmerica today, I was watching on the internet, they had a very attractive short wheelbase ambulance, a 1950 Chevy. It was a No Sale at $22K, so we don't know whether the bid was legit, or not. Was anybody there, or do you know the ambulance in question? I think they said that it was owned by a funeral home in Missouri. I also wondered who did the conversion, thanks!

it has all the appearance of locale shop made. you could buy every thing out of the supply catalog at this time. the miller type side lights are a nice touch. most of the short wheel based ones put the gurney on the right, the attendant seat was behind the driver. the front passengers would flip around to let the gurney move forward enough to get all in. to get this short gurney they must have cut one down.

red wheels a old hot rodder thing.

Well, I like it and its fits in a regular size garage, sure is a cutie!

just not that much cute. they are really proud of it. not proud enough to straighten up that siren light on top though. just proud enough to start at 10 grand over top dollar on it. the repaint and redoing the interior would run a person that much I know. but like any hot rodder I have an Ida what I want. when you can pick out other peoples mistakes in pictures I have to walk away.

my mistakes or modification are OK you understand it's just other peoples

hard to convey to other people that you don't put money in to one of these expecting to get a return. people in your position that are not able to do the work and have to hire it done will look at it and see the opening bid is more then the top dollar they would spend.

me I still can't figure out if it's a person or manikin on the gurney? but bet it's a sitting manikin no reason a person could not be laid out in there.

that and why if they went t all that work did they not bother to hump that dent in the wheel well before they painted it. it'd not like it would have been hard to do
