1946 Flxible Buick Ambulance

Kurt Arends

PCS Elected Director 2021-2024
This ambulance is located in S/E Nebraska. Engine and trans are gone. Front tunnels have been removed. Otherwise very complete right down to the skirts(inside), cabinetry, cot bar, etc. Most of the missing side moldings are inside as well. The seller is asking $2000 and has plenty of room to deal. Here is what info I was able to gather via Tom M.:
"Your numbers are correct and the VIN matches Flxible's body number 15056. This car was/is a 1946 Flxible Sterling ambulance (B56-6) on a Buick Super Series 50 chassis. The car was delivered on July 17, 1946 to Vinson C. Mays of Anniston, Alabama. The body number is/was 15056 and the frame number was/is 14397915 and motor number 45805725".

I forgot to mention. Extremely solid body and in far better condition than it looks. I will add interior photos when I am able to get them off of my dying android.

Interior photos.

According to the Flxible production records, the company built only 80 Series 50 Sterlings in 1946. Of these, 46 were combinations (B56-5C), 16 were ambulances (B56-6), 11 were straight funeral cars (B56-5) and an additional 8 were service cars (B56-8). As a "surviving" Sterling ambulance, this is one of only 16 built. In 1946, this vehicle listed for $3,915. So...there you go. Additional information for anyone interested.

Ed???? It can be had in your price range and it's not so terribly far from you?? You know you've always wanted one! The trick is going to be coming up with the missing front tunnel lights.
