1940's Packard Taxi

I am looking for a 1940's Packard Taxi and thought this would be a good place to start. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Andy

Someone may be able to help, but since taxis are not professional cars as we define them, not sure how much help there is here.

Packard Taxi Cabs

Thank You John! Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated!!

Andy: I googled "Pictures of Old Packard Taxi Cabs" this morning and came up with quite a bit of information.....mostly from the "linked" Packard Club of America Website that included pictures of a 1941 110 Taxi Cab, and a 1947 Clipper Taxi Cab. Although I don't know this for sure, from the way the captions were worded..... it seems like they may have been an factory option directly from Packard? Good Luck! MM

Actually, New York and some other cities required taxi cabs with jump seats that used limousine style bodies. The so-called New York Taxi bodies used by Packard (and DeSoto) in the '40's and '50's are professional cars as defined by name in our original by-laws, and I believe that reference is still in there.

Steve: I did notice that....NYC Cabs in that era had REQUIRED Seating for (5) in rear compatment that (like you said) would have been (3) in the Rear "Couch" and (2) in the juimp seats.

You are right. If they used limo bodies then yes they fit our definition. I did not realize some places required them to have jump seats and the best choice would be a limo in that case.
