To jute or not to jute

once the floor of the 54XL is ready, I will cover it with the Amazon version of Dynamat and then lay the rubberized flooring material on top.

The question I have is what should I do with the area where there was the jute layer? Do I replace the jute or is it not necessary anymore since I am using the Dynamat?

ACC will make a molded vinyl mat in place of the molded carpet; they have black and dark gray vinyl available. You will need to contact them for details' . Might be the best you can do. 1-800-352-8216

I used them for the rubber rug in the 70. Same problems were every vender. Got sent 2 carpets before i got what we ordered and paid for. But customer service was good. And worked to get me what we wanted. Keep your old one for the pattern.as all you can get is a full size car floor. The pattern will be pebble not the smooth that was used. So the question comes up, what is wrong with the origional? Tears can be repaired. Holes not with out another to cut patches out of. Ware patterns once it cleaned up can be presentable you never know till you do it.

The problem I will be running into is mixing up old and new. If I was not replacing the flooring with new material, it would not be an issue, but having old & new side by side will accentuate what would otherwise not be noticeable.

When you ordered the material for the 70, did you order an actual molded carpet or a couple of yards of the vinyl material?

It would have to be molded or you would not be able to lay it in . One would have to do a lot of cut and splice to get around the center transmission hump They did not have a mold for the 70 for me but used a later modal one. The space goes wider as it goes back to the divder. Then the front floor was cut to go around the seat. Then the rubber coated sound and heat material covering the rest. If you need any more of that one will have to find a junk pro car to get it out of. I don't know of any place you can get that product..
