54XL at the body shop

They are working on it in between other jobs, and hope to be able to take it outside and sandblast next week or the week after. Hopefully that will not reveal any major surprises.

So far he only thinks it will have to make maybe five patches, a couple at the bottom of the doors, the rear lower quarter panel of the driver side and maybe a couple spots inside the wheel well.
 
Week 2 Update.

Patches were welded on the driver side on the rear quarter panel in front and behind the rear wheel and on the passenger side in front of the rear wheel and the passenger door. The area where the fender skirt attach to the passenger side also had to rebuild. The pins Some of the door hinge pins will be replaced before the doors go back on. A few patches are left to be welded on the wheel wells. Overall things are moving along nicely.

The rear bottoms of the front fenders are always a problem area. I suggest that they remove the fenders, and check the brace at the back of the fender at the rear so dirt and water don't cause it to rust out further than it already is at the bottom of the fender. You don't want to have it rusting out a year or two after you do all this work. Same for the doglegs. They need to be checked for silt and cleaned if they are filled up with debris. Once it is all done, then you can apply rustproofing to the problem areas, but not before painting.
