Cot bar bracket question

I assume that my 54XL originally came with the FW Model 30 cot and associated cot bar. However, the holes in the wall where the cot bar bracket would be installed do not correspond to the regular cot bar brackets.

The two options are that it came with something totally different or the re may have been a plate behind the regular brackets.

Anyone has any ideas how this original set-up could have been?

I have attached some pictures of what is there now.

Thanks.

I just noticed the hardware mounted on the floor in the video which looks like the type used for the rearward mount of a Ferno-Flex model 28 cot.

You have a Model 174 rear fastener on the floor. Are there “antlers” or a single “stop” up front. That is what a “One Man” cot like the Model 28 would have come with - not a cot bar.

As you say Nick it has a 174 rear fastener. I have pictures from when it was sold out of service in 1998, and at that point the standard cot bar had been removed and the 174, without antlers in place, with the cot it still has. Never was able to find out the story for the evolution. An antler went with the car to Jean-Marc, but a standard bar, with an appropriate cot would suit it very well.76xl 047 purchase 1999 1 (600 x 389).jpg76xl 053 (600 x 389).jpg

This solves 1/2 of the puzzle. The cot in the picture is a Model 28, the type that turns into a chair. Note the shape of the side rails and mattress. I happen to have one in the basement.

It was not uncommon to have dual fasteners so that the crew could use one cot or the other We used to have one of our ambulance set-up so that it could be equiped with a model 30 or a model 28 depending if we were on 911 or transfers.
