Just how rare are those "enforcers" ??
I have been trying to aquire one for some time now....
I go to the CHP Acadamy here in Sacto about every 2-3 months for K/9 trials (son is K/9 officer).....they have the bomb/cadaver/narcotics training in a hugh warehouse offsite and there in the corner sit 2 of these cars among a sea of other "auction" vehicles......I have asked CHP commander for this area and his response is "yep,they are gonna sell/auction it,if it was up to me I would sell it to you"......... but the problem lies with the GSA..they say that they have no record of it ??
And thats the way we have played this game for almost 3 years now.....
Typical state bureaucracy ..."the right doesnt know what the left is doing"....

This was one of the many ambulances that responded to the tower sniper shootings carried out at the University of Texas at Austin by Charles Whitman.

The only logical thing, at this point, is to stage your restored ambulances, to make it look like they're on calls. B/c if I could...I would totally do that. Often. Just because.

Any one remember the movie made about the tower shootings? They used Modulances with dealer tags in the back window. Good attention to detail, but when you can't get the real thing, authenticity suffers.

Kurt & Jim: I believe the Chrysler's were all 413's and they only bought (1) year model of them, so any survivor is very rare. There were quite a few, but subtle differences in a regular Newport and the "Enforcer" that was built specifically for police work. A few years ago when the CHP had there 75th Anniversary they brought out all their "saves" over the years from (that) warehouse including an equally rare '70 Mercury. I seriously doubt that they will sell any of their one-off models, but you never know? A restored original 1970 CHP Mercury is for sale now on the www.copcar.com website for $21,500.00 that will likely go overseas as most of the high dollar old CHP Cars do. MMMike,

Injured from the Wawa Hotel being loaded into different ambulances. 11 died and 25 were injured when the hotel burned to the ground on Sunday morning, 8/19/23.
