Your going to end up splicing them on if you outing them on a pro car. So might as will fix what you got. There won't be any more welding to do or seemed to fill doing that them trying to splice in one that isn't right

The issue that I have with my '74 M-M Lifeliner is that it is as rusty on the top of the quarter as it is on the bottom! It really needs an entire quarter on both sides. I wish that those NOS '65/'66 M-M quarter panels that I had were NOS '74-'76 M-M quarter panels!

Buy a whole rust free car for parts, and then sell what is left to recoup some of your original investment.

Parts Car

Buy a whole rust free car for parts, and then sell what is left to recoup some of your original investment.

I bought a 65 98 sedan for my 65 c/b $2200.00 seems high for a parts car but I get a factory a/c system ,power seats ,power windows ,tilt wheel front group if I need it engine and trans and a lot more. Only problem is I bought it from the original owner who assumed I was going to restore it. ;)

The car panels are not the same as a pro car. You can use parts of them but you can't replace the intire panel. Take your tape measure with you and tape it off. GM did not stamp that panel. It only resembles the factory panels the same way that the coupe and the sedan resemble each other.
That being said I think that the boys at original parts group have them new. After market stuff but decent quality. The last set used from them I saw were put on a poncho. They needed the wheel opening so they spliced it at the molding.

Somewhere on this site there are photos of the '75 M-M Lifeliner that Kevin Lynch was restoring. Kevin bought a '75 Coupe deVille and cut it up, using the quarters, door skins, and front clip. It looked like the quarter panels matched up beautifully! If anyone can find the photos of Kevin's rig with the blue/green panels in place, please post them.

Best case scenario would be to find a ratty '74-'76 end-loader built by the same coach builder from the "left coast", Arizona, or New Mexico to cut up.

As I recall Keven's they used the skin but had to do the splice.. see Paule and I doubled. You see up front were the GM quarter dipped then they had to make the seam up on top.
