Got here in a day and a half via Greyhound. Shipping was a little more than I anticipated because I used the wrong discount code. Ed the post to post measurement is 17.5 inches center to center without the rubber stops. The cot is 22 inches wide, 75 inches long, has the slideout extension on the foot end. Note the Hathaway name tag. Itls a FH in Indiana.

Very nice!

First off - that is not a Model 26. It is a Model 27 - note the dropping foot end with articulations. Also note the "cut out" in the middle for the head-end wheels. I'm intrigued that it's 22" wide. http://www.professionalcarsociety.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19869 Regardless, this is indeed most appropriate for a combination car or other low-headroom ambulance like yours!

That cot dates from roughly 1960-1962, prior to when Dick Ferneau purchased his old employer, Washington Mortuary. 1963 is when the common Ferno-Washington tags appeared. This is also the year the white triangular "scuff plates" came on Model 26 and Model 27 cots - so they are appropriately missing on yours. You also have the special telescoping loading handle - which came standard on Model 27 in 1963. However, it could also have been added after the factory as a kit - no idea when it became standard.

However, you are missing the plastic leg coverings on the head end of the cot. These are still available from Ferno-Washington, through through EMSAR, their parts dealer. Hopefully your local dealer has better customer service than mine... Don't forget to tighten the screws on your foot pad/pull handle!

Didn't you previously have a Model 54? Check your e-mail/PM's! :)
