Zipper Installation Pictures

I have been asked this a few times, "How are zippers installed in the headliner?". For this reason, I have taken the following pictures, assuming that a picture is worth a 1000 words, it will save me a lot of typing. Brass zippers, of the type that were used on convertible top back windows are one type that I have seen used. It is usually a coarse zipper (#10) that is made of brass that is used.

Most important is in these zippers the material is usually a bit elastic to make the zipping easier. Pulling the zipper together with stiff supporting material strains the zipper teeth. Particularly true on convertible rear windows.
