Chicago Navy Pier 1959 Olds ambulance?

Does anyone know anything more about this vehicle, or if it is still there? The post dates from 2006:

An ambulance was brought out the lake with the drive still alive, but unable to be saved. Both his remains and the vehicle were returned to the Asylum and Treatment Center from where they had come.

That is all that is listed regarding the Olds: See the full post here:

Its hard to tell more from that picture, but the car looks fairly solid. Anyone know its fate since 2006? Don't know who took the various pictures, just ones that came up with keyword searches, so I have no idea who that person is.

I know the car is still in the hands of the pier who uses it for the halloween display, but not every year. it is moved with a forklift when put in its spot and its kept outside all year round. Also it cannot be bought because its owned by a federal agency. At least I tried!

It can be bought, just not as you & me would like too. The car would be sent to the government surplus center, and auctioned off.
