Might anyone have the Federal Spec sheet for the Federal Model Y siren / light? thanks Paul

I have Parts Index Sheets for two different Federal Model W sirens. The front of each sheet shows the exploded view, and the backside breaks down the price of each part. The first sheet covers series beginning with RE, 1A, 2A, 1C, 2C, 1F, 2F, 1H, 2H, 1J, 2J, 2L, 2P. The second sheet covers series beginning with K, 1B, 2B, 1E, 2E.

The backside of each sheet also states "Model W and Y sirens," so are the parts possibly interchangeable? I did not find a separate Parts Index Sheet for a Model Y.

The sheets that I have are dated effective Nov. 1969.

A Y is a W (grille only) with a moving light in front; earlier would be a Propello Ray; later, Solar Ray.

Other versions of the W include a WL (flashing light in front) and WLR (flashing lights front and rear).

Thanks for the information. What would a Y be with a rear light? YLR???? thanks Paul

Makes sense, Steve. The two pages that I referenced earlier, both state on the back "For parts for Propello Ray Light Assembly for Model Y Sirens, see parts price list for No. 19 Light. For SolaRay see price list for No. 18 Light. For parts for lighted rear housing, see separate parts price list."

The diagrams depict both an "old style lighted projector assembly" with socket and bulb, and a "lighted projector assembly" with a sealed beam lamp, or the Model W with just a plain grille.

I don't know that this answers the question, but is offered here as a potential help, a portion from the Class E-W Sirens bulletin, printed & effective June, 1972. The "Y," among others, wasn't shown in the May, 1973 siren price list, the earliest stand-alone I have.
