VIN question

Does anyone know if the VIN always stays from the manufacturer or did it ever change once it was converted to a Hearse/Ambulance?

Vin stays the same. Some have a additional manufactures serial # and a body #

The VIN (manufacturers number) stays the same through any conversion/modification. However if for some reason the original was removed or accidentally destroyed many states will issue a replacement (special number plate). The process to get one can be complicated or easy varies by state.
