Has anybody ever checked this Pontiac out? Just a bit curious as to whether it was sold and if not, how bad is it? Mr Scully, I know you said you live one town away, did you get curious enough to look at it?

I certainly wouldn't want you to go out of your way for me, but if you were in the area and just happened to look at it, I would like to know more.

Default 1956 Pontiac Ambulance - $5000 (Victorville ca)

I will see if I can get a hold of him and go from there. I need to test drive the bug that I just installed front disc brakes on.

Default 1956 Pontiac Ambulance - $2000 (Hesperia)

This one is back again. The seller has dropped the price by $3000. Last time around, in early 2013, the price was $5000.

2K for this vehicle appears to be a great deal. It looks straight but did not run last time around. He states that there is a military history to this car "one of the original transports for the BLACK BIRD SPY PLANE RAMP IN SAC"

If true it would give the ambulance perceived "added" value.

Wish I did not have going on w/ me what is going on or that listing would have closed.

Any way here it is:

Very rare as there was only 178 Made and I do not believe any made it past the 1970's gas crunch and doubt the following gas crunches that followed It has a history behind it as it was one of the original transports for the BLACK BIRD SPY PLANE RAMP IN SAC. owned by a privet company contracting for the base I have owned it from 1900 and know the history of the car has a big block with less than 68000 has a rare 4 speed auto trans. included is the gurney as I also have the siren put away/ they still have gasket set for engine though I have never bought it. car will make a great show car in auto shows as you will never have any competition it is a free trophy every time (only in class one of a kind most original as depending on the show) Keep the history alive as it would make a great father and son project or a military man's show case. The spy plane has a great part of the American history as this is why I have moved if from state to state as I moved as now I am selling all my old cars I have left

I am not sure that I buy all the "Black Bird Spy Plane from Sacramento" hype, but what I see from the picture.... it looks complete, very restorable and well worth $2-K. Just that (mounting type) of of Unity spotlights are VERY hard to find. I am assuming that with the (oval) front tunnels it's a Superior?

It also looks like it may have it's original BLACK (1956 Issue) "CA-BE" (State Board of Equalization) Commercial License Plates that would mean that it was a "for hire" ambulance at that time. The fact that it doesn't have any newer type-color-design of CA plate, may back up the low original mileage that he is stating?
