1955 Meteor Ambulance

rust is regional. what is a lot to some is typical to others. but it's mostly surface rust your looking at . a pink and white meteor. it has to be out of the yard up there. they have tons of old pro cars in that yard.

That's a 1955 Meteor and could very well be a Model 86-551-L which was a Landau-style ambulance. You didn't see them often but, Landau style ambulances were made available by all the major coachbuilders. If we could get a look at the Meteor serial plate on this car, that would answer the question.

ALL: The 1956 Meteor-Cadillac Ambulance we restored some years ago and now belongs to Hewy & Ruth Wick looked similar and it was also <without> factory tunnel lights, but a full ambulance, not a combo. In service at the (28) Bed Moffat County General Hospital in Craig, (CO) it was painted White over "Mary-K" Pink along with a 1957 M-M. I asked a retired fireman from Craig if he knew why they painted them that way and he said that "they could be seen better in the snow". I opted for a more conventional white over red that matched our fire engines. MM
