Tuesday, June 23, 2020 Baseball, Farmers and a Carousel

Board the motorcoach for a trip to Cooperstown! We'll visit the Museum of the All-American game, the Baseball Hall of Fame. Considered mecca to baseball fans, the collections, history, and experience of the Baseball HOF is like none other. You'll be immersed in the great all American pastime and come away with a greater appreciation of the past, present and future of Baseball!

After the Baseball HOF, the bus will take guests to the Farmer's Museum, also in Cooperstown. Among many exhibits and more than two dozen authentic historic farm buildings at this 200 year old farm is the beautiful Empire State Carousel. There's lots to learn and fun to be had at the Farmer's Museum!

Cost is $60/person which includes bus trip and museum admissions.
Wednesday, June 24, 2020 A Cave, an Indian Nation & A Board Meeting

Another motorcoach trip is in works for today, this time to Howe Caverns and the Iroquois Museum.

The Howe Caverns tour is about 90 minutes, descending 156 feet under ground (by elevator) and six million years back in time. The tour is a walking tour and includes an underground boat ride. After the tour, we'll "resurface" and enjoy lunch (on your own) at the Cavern's restaurant. Be sure to also visit the fun Howe Caverns Mining Company. After lunch, we're back to the bus for our next stop.

The Iroquois Museum is also in Howes Cavern, NY. We'll have a guided tour through the most comprehensive collection of Iroquois art, all housed in a traditional but modern interpretation of an Iroquois "long house."

Cost is $70/person including motorcoach transportation, cave and museum admission.

The Professional Car Society, Inc. Board of Directors will meet at the host hotel at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 24, 2020. PCS Board Meetings are open -- all members are welcome to attend and observe.
Thursday, June 25, 2020 Saratoga: Springs, Cars and Dance

Our day begins early with an 8:00 A.M. General Membership Meeting at the host hotel. All members are encouraged to attend.

No bus trip today, we are driving our professional cars a half hour to Saratoga Springs, New York! On the agenda today:

Saratoga Automobile Museum. A fairly new museum (2002), the SAM is housed in a 1934 water bottling plant and is in the 2400 acre Saratoga Spa State Park. Our guided tour will encompass exhibits that celebrate the history of the automobile, particularly the deep history of New York's role in automobile manufacturing and development. Interestingly, the SAM is also home to the New York State Stock Car Association Hall of Fame.

Lunch in the Park: We'll enjoy beautiful weather (we hope!) as we have a box lunch picnic in Saratoga Spa Park. The average high temperature in Saratoga in June is 79 degrees.

National Museum of Dance and Hall of Fame. Our professional cars will be a featured display at the front of the Museum while we have a guided tour the permanent and rotating exhibits celebrating the history of all forms of dance and a special exhibition of Square Dance! Famous dancers are celebrated in the Hall of Fame.

There are many other things to do in Saratoga while visiting, including Horse Racing, Polo and horseback riding, the Saratoga Casino, and shopping the boutiques in downtown Saratoga. Unfortunately, the National Museum of Racing in Saratoga is closed while we are there.

Cost of today's adventure is $25/person including museums and picnic lunch.

Cost is $55/person, including motorcoach transportation, cruise and lunch.

After the cruise, we'll return to the host hotel. Dinner is own your own. Many will prepare their professional cars for the car show the next day, and there's always late-night parking lot camaraderie.
Saturday, June 27, 2020 Show Day!

The morning starts early with assembling the professional cars in the hotel parking lot for display and judging at the 2020 Professional Car Society Concours d'Elegance, which will continue through mid afternoon.

The meet concludes with the Banquet and Awards Presentation Ceremony Saturday evening, followed by the always popular light show.

Buffet banquet is $40/person with your choice of chicken, seafood or prime rib.

Sad, but realistic decision.

As disappointing as this cancelation is, this was definitely the right decision, at least in my opinion. We were looking forward to attending, but health of our members is much more important.

We could start by all the directors having discussions on our Director To Director forum on these forums to get all the mundane issues out of the way first, and after that is done, we could have a video conference or just a sound conference of the Board of Directors (D to D), and set it up, so all the members could listen in to the meeting. The same could be done for the membership meeting. It will take some preparation in advance, however, I believe that all the Officers and Directors are up to the task. Since the Discussions on the D to D will be informal discussion, we could start that immediately. All it will take is for someone who has the email list of the directors to email all of them and let them know of ongoing discussions in the forums, if they are not a regular visitor to these forums. The D to D forum was well received when I was President, and worked well. Should any of our Directors forgotten their password, the system allows for them to create a new password with a few mouse clicks and inserting basic information. If anyone should require a new password immediately, I am available by PM, and can call them and give them a temporary password, along with the information of how to change it to whatever they like once they get into the forums.
Lets us not waste time, and get started on dealing with the business of running the Society.
Thanks
Paul Steinberg

I have used a new app, Zoom.us, for conducting an online meeting. It seems to work very well, is very easy to use, and quick to download to a computer or a phone.

We use zoom rooms for all our collaborative meetings here at work, and it works great! Both for audio, and white-boarding or presentation sharing. And you can either call in with a phone, or headset attached to your computer, whichever you prefer.
