Tomorrow we will be moving our forums to a new server. This means that if you have our forums bookmarked, you will get an error message after the move. We have outgrown the present server, and this move will help us to continue to bring you the best information about Professional Car that is available anywhere else on the World Wide Web. Once all of the information that is presently on the website is transferred over to the new server, it can take as long as 24 hours for our new IP address to populate across the United States and the rest of the world. All you will have to do is to type into the address bar of your computer, http://professionalcarsociety.org and then create a new bookmark for our website.

Thanks and please be patient waiting for the forums to return.

Hey Paul, will there be any upgrades on the new server, like non-site supporters will be able to post pics, larger file sizes will be allowed etc.?

I have said in the past, many times, that all registered forum members have picture hosting privilege's. As for larger files, there were constraints on size of files, however, larger files have been the norm from inception.
Since day one, individual posts are limited to 10,000 characters per post, but there is limitation to how many posts of 10,000 characters that can be made in a single thread. It is limited to 10,000 characters so people don't just skip over a post because the poster is "long winded". This is the norm on just about ever forum that I have ever seen, and many don't allow over 5 or 6 thousand characters per post.

It was just 3 years and 4 months ago that we had to move to a larger server, and it was announced on the forums on 05-23-2016. http://professionalcarsociety.org/forums/showthread.php?t=19133&highlight=hosting

Below are just a few examples showing the timeline of the announcement of free picture hosting for everyone. There is only one exception, and that is built into the software, that you have to have at least 10 posts before you can post in certain forums, or post pictures.

It has been said multiple times over the last year and 2 months, that everyone has picture hosting privileges starting August 2016.

Paul, Is the server up? I am getting this message when I go to home to look at posts.

"Invalid forum path specified! Please edit this file and be sure to include the correct path for your $forumpath variable." Any words of advise?

We know about the problem and it is located in one line of coding. Problem is finding that one line of code out of thousands of lines. We continue to work to resolve this problem. In the meantime, we have found that if you type the address www.professionalcarsociety.org into the address bar, and add forward slash (/) and the word (forums) and another forward slash (/) to the address, it will work properly. The address will now look like
www.professionalcarsociety.org/forums/ ...

Thanks for your patience while we work to resolve this problem.

Don't understand why, since it works for me and all the test accounts that I have tried it with. If you click on the large logo in the upper left corner, that might give you an error message, but it seems to have been resolved. Still trying to find the one line of code that is causing all the problems, but it is like looking for a needle in the hay stack. Just glad that I am not tasked with doing all this work. Going on vacation in the morning. East meets West!!

I thought I was the problem!

Great! Good to know I wasn't doing anything wong. I will be patient until all is worked out! Nice to know there are people who know how to take care of things!:applause:
