old versus new

some may remember awhile back I snagged a cherry set of 235s out of the back seat of a caddy in the yard. will we got around to putting them on yesterday at it was 60 deg. good thing as that is not true today. the fact that the white wall is a little wider was easy to see but that the tire stood taller with out all that side wall bulge was not. the pictures don't do the difference Justus. they are both the same size tires both have the same amount of air in them. mounted on the same width wheel. I just barely cleared the garage door with the old tires I might not get it in with these. the second pictures is to prove that yes I do live in south Dakota.

235 is the width. The next number would be the height in the aspect ratio of the tire. Was the second number the same? I.E. 235/65R15

Edit: i see you say now they are the same size tire. The second one seems to have a more aggressive tread and deeper lugs. Maybe that could account for the added height?

you shrink as you get older.. I used to be 6'5" when I was in my 20's..
