1971 Olds ambulance

Is it worth $2500 ? Some rot on doors, half-assed damage repair near passenger taillight, no headliner, patient area carpeted. Purported 60,000 miles.
To be repaired by owner: rear cylinder locked up and removal of " Ghostbuster" gadgets.

$2,500, I would, depending on how bad the rot is. These are going to be harder and harder to find later on, they are no longer making sedan based ambulances. Keep in mind a nice 70s Cadillac ambulance can go for $20,000 and up. These Cotner/Bevingtons are well built.

$2500.00 looks like a deal to me. Would cost $500.00 plus just to get a dead one running this looks in drive home condition. Its a rare one to boot. Front compartment is exceptional original. The rear compartment does not look too hard to deal with. Back bumper is also exceptional. GO FOR IT!!!!!

CB

From the pictures she looks pretty good.

Seems to have most of her "dignity" still intact such as cabinets, glass seems good and the dash seems complete and un cut.

I think any vehicle thats 40+ years old in drivable condition that seems to be a fairly simple fix is worth $2500.00 !

And John is right, ambulances ARE going up pretty steadily in value and there are not that many around...

I would go for it if you are intersted !!

Looks pretty good for $2500 to me. Even if there is some rust. The original beacon is even there (up on the roof rack) for when you take off all the GB stuff.

Thanks, guys. I thought it a good deal. It helps to solicit others opinions. I'll post more complete pics when I pick her up.....to be continued !

Looks to be a very good deal! Hopefully they did not screw the roof up too bad when they mounted all of that scrap iron. Make sure they throw in the beacon up on the rack.

Pulled the trigger and it's in the drive....I have absolutely no self control. I have 1/2 of the Ghostbuster paraphernalia off already. Pics are just as I arrived home.

Very nice car,Mike! I had a 71 C/B Military ambulance for many years,Also a 75 Model that I got from Peter Graves in a trade. 71 went to Finland and the 75 went to northern Ontario. I wish that I had kept them both.

Best of luck with your new find. Keep us posted.

WOOOOOOOOOO another one saved!! :071:

I have some pics of a restored one identical to that near me if you would like them texted or emailed to you to aid in restoring it.

Thanks, guys. I'll keep you updated on progress. Data plate indicates ( along with door jams) that originally car painted in " Cameo White" over " Nordic Blue". Not certain what she'll look like in her new life.
